Role: Production Designer
Agency: FCV Interactive
Skills: Production Design, Infographics & Illustration, Service Design
The Problem:
With licensing and universal insurance coverage, ICBC provides peace of mind for everyone on the road in British Columbia. Challenging the pace of the private sector, they’re committed to deliver better services for less money by putting the customer right at the centre of service delivery across channels. ICBC hired FCV to help put together a strategy to define what services needed to be updated, as well as a plan to implement these updates. FCV ran a series of workshops with ICBC, and worked closely with them to define each service, and come up with a plan on how to execute.
The Result:
As Production Designer, I worked closely with FCV’s Service Design team, as well as the client, to visually represent each service. I created individual “trading cards” to represent each one, as well as a larger roadmap showing when and how each service change would be executed. It was all wrapped up nicely in a Service Strategy report full of infographics and visual data that showed ICBC’s stakeholders what they needed to do for a better customer experience.

The Problem:
Service Nova Scotia (SNS) delivers services and administers a diverse range of programs for the benefit of citizens, businesses and municipalities across Nova Scotia. Intent on expanding online service offerings, they identified several programs, including the Heating Assistance Rebate Program (HARP) and the Registry of Joint Stock Companies (RJSC), as great starting points to launch their digital transformation. FCV ran a series of workshops and Service Design exercises with SNS to define customer personas, illustrate customer journeys and determine Minimal Viable Products (MVP’s).
The Result:
As Production Designer, I designed multiple reports, presentations, and journey maps that visually told Service Nova Scotia’s story and helped define their problems. This enabled SNS to see the problems they currently have, and guided them towards solutions for a better, user-focused government and a strategy to execute.
Role: Production Designer / Design & Video Lead
Agency: FCV Interactive
Skills: Production Design, Infographics & Illustration, Photography, Video Editing, Web / UI Design
The Ask:
FCV is a full service digital agency that builds better customer experiences through user-centred design and development. Providing all these services for their clients, it’s important that FCV follows the same high standards for themselves.
As Production Designer for the company, it was my job to be the internal brand police, and make sure everything they produced represented FCV’s high standards. With FCV’s 3 brand pillars at top of mind: Expertise, Flexible and Curious, the aim was to deliver engaging collateral that represented FCV in the best way possible.
As I progressed to Design & Video Lead, my role shifted to a broader scope, including re-designing the company website, and incorporating video editing to our list of services.
The Result:
As Production Designer, my main responsibilities at FCV were: internal design (business cards, stationery, office graphics, brochures, etc.), photography (portraits and spaces), presentations, proposals / RFP’s, and icon illustration. I provided continuous amounts of support for the Business Development team, which included designing proposals, RFP’s, pitch decks and infographics. This helped FCV stand out from other companies while pitching for new work, and promoting themselves.
As Design & Video Lead, I had the opportunity to re-design the website. Working alongside a UX Designer, we created the new website from scratch, which included design, illustration of icons, photo sourcing and original photography. The new site focused on bright, bold and engaging photography to entice new clients and employees.
Role: Internal Graphic Designer
Client: Avigilon
Skills: Production Design, Infographics & Illustration, Photography, Print design, Web design, Social Media
The Ask:
Avigilon is a global B2B technology company, which provides a full end-to-end security solution; from manufacturing security cameras in their local facility, to the software and analytics intelligence that go along with that. The Internal Graphic Designer at Avigilon owned all things visual for the company. Every digital touchpoint, printed piece and branded aspect was part of this role.
The Result:
Being the only Internal Graphic Designer for over 2 years at Avigilon produced many types of collateral. I created an endless amount of printed pieces: brochures, advertisements, whitepapers, reports, data sheets and invitations, to name a few. I did the photography and editing for all products, which were used for print and digital. I also worked collaboratively with the content team and product experts to create complex infographics, icons and illustrations. It was also my responsibility to update the website via our CMS.
